ICICI Bank has reappointed Ajay Kumar Gupta as Executive Director for a further two-year term, effective 27 November 2026 through 26 November 2028. The reappointment has RBI approval, with the required shareholder approval still part of the process.

Gupta has been part of ICICI Bank's leadership for more than three decades, with responsibilities spanning credit, operations, technology, data sciences and analytics.

Why it matters

As banks navigate digital transformation, AI- and data-led banking, credit-quality management and rising regulatory expectations, continuity in senior leadership helps preserve strategic consistency. The reappointment reads as a signal of continuity in ICICI Bank's long-term execution strategy as much as a personnel decision.
