Nationwide, a major US insurance and financial services player, has established its GCC in Hyderabad to support global business and technology operations. The centre will enhance enterprise-wide delivery capabilities while tapping into the city's mature technology ecosystem and deep talent pool.

Arun Prasad has been appointed Head of Talent Acquisition to build and scale the centre. This hire underscores Nationwide's commitment to establishing a substantial, long-term presence in the city.

Hyderabad's selection reflects its growing maturity as a BFSI destination. The city now hosts strong GCC infrastructure and continues to attract major global financial institutions seeking to deepen their India footprint.

The Nationwide move is part of a broader industry trend. Global enterprises are no longer viewing India primarily through a cost-arbitrage lens; instead, they are establishing GCCs to drive innovation, engineering excellence, AI adoption, digital transformation, analytics, and enterprise operations.

GCCs in India are evolving beyond operational hubs. They increasingly influence enterprise-wide decision-making and strategy for parent companies, making them central to global business models rather than peripheral support functions.

India's BFSI sector remains one of the strongest contributors to this expanding GCC ecosystem, attracting sustained investment from major global players.

Why it matters

For DSAs, loan agents, and fintech connectors in India's credit distribution network, this trend matters because it signals deeper globalisation of financial services operations and technology. As international players embed innovation and decision-making functions in India, the quality, speed, and sophistication of lending products and digital infrastructure available to local players and borrowers will improve.

The shift also affects talent availability and cost structure for the broader financial services sector. An influx of global capability centres creates demand for engineering, product, and operations talent at competitive rates, reshaping the talent economy that connectors and DSAs depend on for hiring skilled professionals.
