The appointment comes as the commercial vehicle and asset-backed lender accelerates its multi-state portfolio expansion, underscoring a sharp institutional focus on credit governance and asset quality across semi-urban and rural markets.

Over Three Decades of Multi-Cycle Credit Risk Expertise

Senthilkumar K brings more than 32 years of deep domain experience in credit risk management, retail and commercial lending, and portfolio underwriting across multiple economic and credit cycles.

Over the course of his three-decade career, he has held senior leadership mandates at some of India’s most prominent domestic and multinational financial institutions, including:

  • Manappuram Finance Limited (where he previously spearheaded the Commercial Vehicle and Equipment Finance division)
  • Citicorp
  • GE Capital
  • Magma Fincorp

At Mahaveer Finance India Limited, Senthilkumar will be responsible for fortifying the company’s end-to-end credit policies, sharpening risk evaluation frameworks, and supporting sustainable balance-sheet growth.

Powering Mahaveer Finance’s Next Phase of Disciplined Growth

Led by Mahaveer Chand Dugar (Executive Vice Chairman), Deepak Dugar (Managing Director & CEO), and Praveen Dugar (Deputy Managing Director & CFO), Mahaveer Finance India Limited has carved out a strong niche in used commercial vehicle (CV) and passenger vehicle financing for first-time buyers, small road transport operators (SRTOs), and underserved retail borrowers.

Why it matters

  1. Scaling Past ₹1,324 Crore AUM: Backed by marquee institutional investors including Elevation Capital, BanyanTree Finance, and First Bridge India Growth Fund, MFIL’s Assets Under Management (AUM) have scaled steadily from ₹763 crore in FY24 and ₹1,007 crore in FY25 to over ₹1,324 crore in FY26.
  2. Expanding Multi-State Footprint: Operating a network of 80+ branches anchored across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Puducherry—and expanding into western markets such as Maharashtra and Gujarat—the addition of a 32-year credit veteran equips MFIL with institutional-grade underwriting guardrails for its next leg of expansion.
