Deutsche Bank Appoints 30-Year Veteran Vikas Arora as Chief Country Officer and Head of Corporate Bank for the Philippines

MANILA / MUMBAI — Deutsche Bank has appointed nearly three-decade institutional veteran Vikas Arora as Chief Country Officer (CCO) and Head of Corporate Bank for the Philippines, effective October 1, 2026. Succeeding outgoing Country Head Dino Siason, Arora will oversee Deutsche Bank’s overall country platform in the Philippines and drive growth across both its Corporate Bank and Investment Bank divisions.

In his dual mandate, Arora reports jointly to Kaushik Shaparia, CEO for India and Emerging Asia, and Burkhard Ziegenhorn, Head of Corporate Banking for Southeast Asia and Australia.

From Mumbai Classrooms to a 30-Year Global Banking Career

Arora’s appointment underscores the growing footprint of Indian-trained banking leaders across Asia-Pacific’s top financial corridors:

  • Academic Foundation: Arora is an alumnus of the K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management (SIMSR), Mumbai (1993–1995 batch) and later completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Organisation and Leadership for Social Change from the Singapore University of Social Sciences in 2023.
  • Three Decades at Deutsche Bank: Joining Deutsche Bank as a management graduate in 1996, Arora has spent 30 years with the German lender across Asia and the Middle East, building deep expertise in institutional client coverage, trade finance, cash management, and transaction banking.

A Full-Circle Homecoming to Manila

The mandate marks a strategic return to the Philippines for Arora, who previously served in Manila from 2015 to 2018 as Head of Global Transaction Banking (GTB) for the country. Following his earlier Philippines stint, he took on two consecutive country and divisional leadership roles in the region:

  1. Chief Country Officer (CCO) for Sri Lanka, steering the bank’s franchise through complex macro cycles.
  2. Head of Corporate Bank in Malaysia, his most recent role prior to returning to Manila.

Why it matters

As multinational supply chains and cross-border infrastructure flows accelerate across ASEAN and Emerging Asia, Arora’s deep local familiarity and regional transaction banking pedigree position Deutsche Bank to capture a larger share of corporate and institutional deal flow in the Philippines.
